Any experience with ProSport Evo Oil Pressure gauge

Looking for a relatively inexpensive oil pressure gauge, but don't want something unreliable just to save some bucks.

The ProSport EVO looks pretty nice for ~ $100 and most of the reviews are pretty good. Any experience out there ?

It has to read to 150 psi. On cold starts. You will see pressure of 110+.

Thanks ! I read most of the oil pressure threads on the forum and realized 100 PSI wouldn't work, but have not seen any reference to the ProSport gauges.

The ProSport EVO model I am looking at is 150 PSI. Comes with their "premium" sending unit which is a bit smaller than the standard sending units. If I don't get any negative input, will probably give it a try.

I run JDM series oil pressure and trans. fluid temp. in the Z. Oil pressure is spot on based on what others say their pressures are.

In my diesel truck I run their Performance Series oil pressure $54 shipped and again spot on.

Thanks for the tip on the ProSport JDM gauge. I like the looks/features and plan to order one.

I was wondering, if using a gauge that has an alarm feature is there any advantage to keeping the stock sensor hooked up ? Seems like it would make more sense to replace the stock sensor using an adapter to NPT instead of installing a tee to use both sensors.

I use the SpeedHut gauges. It has a alarm that you can set. You can customize the gauges.

I have it, it works. It's a little dim when it's very sunny outside but that's more a function of location, A pillar. I was worried about it's cheapness compared to others I was looking at like AEM but no problems and it saved my motor once already when an oil line broke and I lost almost all pressure and not dash warning light came on.

Thanks for all the input ! I have decided to order the ProSport JDM. I like the analog readout along with the digital reading.

Still on the fence if I should just replace the stock sensor or tee in the new sensor. Will probably order the parts to do it either way and decide once I see how everything fits.

If you have an aftermarket oil cooler, get a -AN male to female fitting with an NPT tee on it. If not, it seems like teeing in the new sensor from the OEM location is fine as long as you have a quality tee fitting.

If you place the fitting on the return line, after the cooler and before it goes back into the block it should be pretty close to the same reading I’d think.

Thanks for the info about the oil cooler fitting, but no oil cooler on my car. Its one of the mods I have been considering, but I am going to wait and see if I need one. Since I live in northern NY we don't often get really hot days.

I guess it will depend on how "spirited" I drive

If doing so, precooler would be your better bet for accuracy. Cooler cores of all kinds cause pressure drop. Closer to the engine before the cooler is the most accurate.

That’s true. I was just thinking that the important thing is oil pressure going back into the block, so that’d be the best thing to monitor
