How reliable are these as you get up in miles? Are they known for any specific issues? How often should you drain/fill them, assuming not tracking the vehicle?

My rule of thumb is a Automatic drain and refill should be every 40,000 km or every three years, which ever comes first.
I have not heard many issues with the 7 speed auto for the 370z on this forum, nor do I look for them since I drive the manual version. Pretty reliable transmission from what I hear though.

The 7AT is very reliable and can handle more HP than the stock engine puts out. Change the fluid every 40k-60k miles and it should last over 250k miles in a DD. YMMV

It just uses the radiator to cool the fluid. He is talking about a cooler like an oil cooler mounted in front of the radiator. I don't think it needs one for normal DD purposes.
I have 135k on my awd G and the trans is still as good as the day I bought it. I did the first fluid change at 110k and will flush and fill every 40k. I do the transfer case at the same time too. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

204k miles. Zero issues. I do a flush and fill every 50k. I’ve had a stillen cooler on for about 150k miles. Only weak point I’ve read is the flex plate, but that’s usually boost related.

I ask as I'm running air/oil only (OE bypassed) and with the temps I'm seeing the OE radiator unit would only be heating the transmission fluid if it were still in line.
