Code U1024 after going back to stock tune?
Hey guys. My 2015 Nismo with 37,000 miles was tuned for a long time and had two step. Long story short I had check engine lights for the mass airflow sensors and a huge loss of power/acceleration issues. I cleaned and even swapped new MAF along with the throttle bodies, and it did nothing.
Today I bought an UpRev cable, removed the tune back to stock and the CEL is gone and the car runs good again. However my OBD2 scanner is picking up 1 code only and that’s the U1024. It doesn’t show in the dash (yet) Will this code go away on its own? Shall I be worried? I’m confident I did everything right and the car is now 100% stock again. Any input will be grateful. Thanks |

U1024 is a VVEL/CAN error. Check for loose or disconnected wiring connectors or other CAN wiring problems. Wiring diagrams, harness routing, etc are in the FSM (link in sig).

Everytime I flash my car with UpRev I get a U1024 and a U1000 that sits in the Permanent Codes for a few months and then goes away on their own. I was told this happens because UpRev disconnects these items from the network when it is uploading a tune to the ECU. I would say just as long this code is showing in the Permanent Codes and not turning on the CEL I wouldn't sweat it.

While the ECU was being flashed, it didn't have time to communicate with the VVEL module on the dedicated CAN bus or other modules on the other CAN bus and these code are set. Every CAN bus module (ECU, TCM, BCM, M&A, IPDM/ER, etc) needs to have constant communication to and from every other CAN bus module. If more than 2 seconds go by WITHOUT communication (like when flashing an ECU) a CAN bus code is declared. It can not be cleared by a scan tool, as it is a "Permanent" code. BUT after the required drive cycles, it will be cleared by the ECU once it has confirmed communication is good. It is normal and nothing to worry about |
