Exclamation OS Giken 1.5 way LSD DIY install problems?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on this platform and I've come to seek help. I finally completed my new LSD core install myself and followed a lot of different guides + followed everything from the service manual (backlash, run out, everything...) and I'm having weird delivery output and little pops upon acceleration in a turn (when I pull in a street for example). I read that this differential is manufactured to not have those kind of noise and saw other people's post that said that they had no noise whatsoever... I'm kinda really freaking out and in desperation. I have my first race in a 2 weeks and having to tear everything out once more would probably make me miss out on the race with my schedule and I really don't want to loose all that money but on the other hand I don't want to beak my hard earned diff...

I guess what I'm trying to say is, its making noises when I think it shouldn't, is it normal or should I wait it out a bit and put a few miles on it before worrying.

Thank you for your help

Do you think this is appropriate? It does say "ideal for differentials" on the bottle...

Drain that and put in the OS Giken oil. That's a must!

OS Giken has their own fluids that must be used. My 1.5 way makes no noise except a bit of wine in the winter when its super cold till it warm up.

Run OS Giken fluid. It is not cheap but it is works like a champ. Been where you have and changed fluid. No issues.

Like the others have said. You have to use the OS Giken gear lube. Anything else will cause you issues. The OS Giken fluid has come down in price.

Smile

So! We are now about 3 week later since my oil change and I am very glad to say that the problem completely disappeared after a long test drive. I'm so happy my baby is finally back on the roads and such a blast to ride. I had a race about two week ago that went well too!

Once again, I want to say a big thank you to everyone that helped me and I hope this thread prevents anybody else from doing the same mistake as I did.

Keep riding and stay awesome guys <3
