Default Quaife diff install issue

Hey all, got a Quaife diff (QDF11L) installed on a '16 base 6mt. Only thing left are the stub shafts. The shafts will not seat all the way in on each side. Seems to be about 1/8th-1/16th or so left to go. As far as I know, this model Quaife is supposed to accept these shafts without any modifications. Any idea what's going on here? Searching this issue hasn't come up with any specific answers.

When you pushed the stubs in. Did you feel a click?

Are the stubs easy to pull back out? If they are. Pull them out and see if the snap ring is still on them.

You doing this on a bench, or in the car?

I can't pull them back out by hand. Have to tap it out with a mallet, so I feel like they're clearing the ring and getting locked in. I'm doing this on a bench.

If you can't pull them out by hand. They're locked into place.

Here's the gap on one side. The other side has a similar gap. They're definitely seated all the way. I put a dab of grease on the very end of the stub to see if it was contacting the inside of the diff, which it was. Is this acceptable?

It's good. The snap ring locates the position of the stub.
