Default Limp Mode

My Z keeps going into limp mode. I assumed it was my oil temp sensor because shortly after it was throwing a code for it. I had it replaced, the code is gone, and it’s still going into limp mode. I’ve reset the ecu multiple times and the first drive after every time the car drives normal. After that it goes right back into limp mode.

Check Codes again. Something else is going on.

What's the code? Just because the CEL isn't lit doesn't mean there's not a pending code you can see with your scanner.

I don't think the ECM will go into limp mode without triggering a DTC. I'm with PaulZ370 and Chuck33079 - check for DTC(s).

Update: It was my taillight. Had water in it and keep going in and out. I realized it was the problem when it would only happen while the lights were on and since I work night shift I’m driving with my lights on 90% of the time. I replaced it and now she’s driving normal again.
