Default Throttle lag / limp mode

Hello all, new owner here with 2019 370z base 6mt.

Just thought I'd add to this info in case it can help somebody. I had searched for a found people with similar symptoms.....with a variety of fixes, like cleaning/replacing throttle bodies, etc......

In my case, I took ownership of this car, and found the following:

1. occasionally (maybe 1 out of 10 starts), I would start up the car, and begin with very GENTLE acceleration, only to find, it would ONLY do light acceleration. Very light....as if the peddle were stuck at 5%. This issue would resolve itself after several seconds.....the car would suddenly come to life(often about the time the doors locked), then be fine after.

2. much more rarely, (maybe 1 out of 100 times), the same thing would happen, but the car would end up stuck in that mode (maybe not QUITE as bad)......enough to drive around like....like you had a 80hp car, and you could only push the peddle 10%. This would go on until I stopped and restarted the car, at which point it would be normal - but the maintenance light would come on. As it turns out, it was throwing a Crank PositionSensor code (P0315).

I took it in after #1 occurred several times. The first time, they told me, oh it's normal to be like that. (they couldn't reproduce it) I thought: hmmm....weird...maybe the car really doesn't like to be driven that gently when first started.....

It kept recurring and then #2 happened for the first time, so i took it back. They replaced the Crank Position Sensor, but actually warned me they didn't know why it happened, and if it recurred I'd have to bring it back, but that they thought is was fixed. They said they called Nissan and even Nissan wasn't sure why this would be.

It was immediately clear it wasn't fixed as #1 kept happening - happened to me an hour later, then a week or 2 later #2 happened again. I brought it back for the 3rd visit. This time, they said they called Nissan and Nissan knew what it was. They apparently reprogrammed the ECM as instructed by Nissan.

Fortunately, it hasn't recurred since. So the problem seems resolved. Had been getting worried....a real downer buying a car, and then finding SOMETHING is wrong with it! Hope this may help somebody else in future.
