Sorry useless thread, but what is this thing?
One of my friends has a fuel pressure regulator on his car, but it has aftermarket pumps and somewhat resembles this thing under the hood. Does this thing have something to do with fuel delivery? I looked in the manual, nothing.

The fuel filter, maybe? Let me see if I can find it in the service manual.

Look at pieces 2, 3, and 4. Look familiar?

Ok cool. For some reason I was thinking that with 2 intake there would be be2 seperate fuel lines with 2 seperate fuel rails. Thanks for the post, that explains a lot.

That looks very much like a fuel pressure damper. The fuel pressure regulator, in 99% of vehicles is located in the tank and is controlled by the ECU, not manifold vacuum. The fuel pressure damper simply prevents fuel pressure spikes.

Huh? I think that precentage is backwards. It should read 99% of vehicles fuel pressure regulators are located outside the fuel tank.

My vote as well. Looks a lot like the bosch unit on an Audi/VW.

nope thats a fuel damper read the pic that says fuel delivery tube with damper, also notice there is no vacuum input line which is on a fpr
Edit the FPR is officially in tank on our cars as well as the filter pump and level sensor Last edited by 1slow370; 02-01-2010 at 01:31 PM. |
