Do I need a fuel return?

Default Do I need a fuel return?

This is my first post on the forum and im glad to be here finally. I have been looking into forced induction and I have done some research on a kit. I have decided on the Soho Stage 1 single kit. I am looking to make 520whp on 94 Canadian gas. Do I need a fuel return system? If so could you give some recommendations? Thanks!

For safety reasons, YES. Get a CJ Motorsports return fuel system. Stay away from the AAM kit. It is junk.

I asked my self the same question be4 going twin turbo, I ended up NOT getting it because I was not pumping enough fuel for my pressure regulator to float open, which is when you need a stand alone pressure regulator and with a return system. But if am goin to burn E85 for example, I will need a 450fuel pump to pump a sufficient ammout, this will cause the OEM pressure regulator to float open forsing me to get a return system with a new pressure regulator.

Well I am not burning e85.... How do i know if I am pumping enough fuel for the pressure regulator to float open?

You would have to put a fuel pressure gauge at the engine. Why take the chance for a lean out due to low fuel supply. You will blow your engine.

There are other reasons a car could lean out too. I've had mine lean out during mild spirited driving on all season tires with half a tank of gas. I've known about the fuel starvation issue but the false information I've read on it seems to think that can only happen when you're using summer tires on a track with enough g-force to starve the pump.

Luckily my **** didn't blow up but my tuner was not happy with me when he saw the log.

You can get fuel starve on the street. It's happened to a few people.
