Default GTR Injectors to run E85 - how to tell real from fake

I've been tuning a lot of customer cars with e85 and it's astonishing at how many people are being ripped off, buying fake GTR injectors from ebay/amazon, etc.

For your reference, here is what to look for to tell the real ones from the fake ones:

Genuine on the left, fake on the right:

Your startup and other driving qualities should be nearly identical to having the stock injectors. If you need assistance troubleshooting E85 startup or other related issues and you're tuned on ecutek, feel free to reach out for assistance if you've hit a point where you can't figure out the issue.

Again, startup and normal driving should be nearly identical to stock.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting this!
It seems like the counterfeit parts always have crappy plastic injection molds and there is a large amount of "flash". (plastic that leaks through the mold sections)

Just compare the electrical connectors.

Do you have any tips on screening them before ordering, besides the obvious stuff like horrible English grammar in the description?

The best chance is to order from someone who has experience with them or buy directly from the dealer. However, if you ever plan to boost the car, it doesn't make sense to buy the GTR injectors new because for about the same price you can get a set of new Injector Dynamics injectors that are good for more fuel delivery.

Good used real GTR injectors can be hard to come by but I do have sets available for sale and I generally pass them on with no markup aside from what it costs to have them cleaned, flow tested, and new baskets and o-rings installed. They're usually reserved for my ecutek tuning customers, but please feel free to reach out directly to me and I can arrange to have a set sent out if I have any at that time.
