Default Air Conditioning Problem

Does anyone know why my Fan won't blow AC on "Auto" like it normally would but works if it turn the fan up to max. Keep in mind the ambient tempature is higher in cabin than the set 60 degrees so on Auto it normally would be blowing at max even though it isn't set at max to get the cabin up to tempature fast. Help

Although this is for a Camry, it sounds like the same problem.

Sounds like the fan resistor pack is done. It should be in the fan housing. I forget the exact name of the part.

Is it a resistor or relay that I am after?

It should be a resistor. It will be after the fan. May be a box or on a blade looking thing. It controls the fan speed. When it goes out, you only get high speed.

Blower motor resistor. Two ways to find it, follow the wires from the fan back to it, or use Google.

Service manual only talks about the "AC Relay" as far as a check between the wiring. Is that what is being discussed. Zero mention of a Blower relay ect in the manual. Just says AC relay under the hood with the rest of the relays

So what exactly is your issue. Is you blower motor only working on High? Is your auto A/C not blowing appropriately for the temp in the car?

Correct. All of a sudden when in "Auto" mode, the fan blows very little to no air. When cranked to max it blows fine. Tempature set at 60 degrees on a 85 degree day.

Does it work if you take it out of 'Auto'? If so, it's likely the amp is bad... or you have some other issue. CAN bus reader would be helpful.

If I take it out of auto it works. Trying to figure out why just the "auto" setting doesn't work now

It may be one of your sensors. The in vehicle or the sun load sensor I would think. It could be the auto amp.
