Does anyone has any experiences with motordyne LTH?
motordyne Long tube header.
my current set up is Stillen Gen3 intake, HFC, Cat back, uprev tune. Making about 325WHP The motordyne LTH is kinda on the pricy side. Will i see any gains with the insallation of motordyne LTH?if so by how much? Is it worth the money? Thanks. |

I'd say if you want LTHs get PPE, if you're comfortable with shorties get the Z1 (even though for what their price is now, might as well get the PPE).

Overall for LTH’s the Motordyne LTH’s are excellent quality and have nice welds on them. The only negative I have seen after you install your LTH’s and plan to drive your Z in rain or snow they are made of 304 polished stainless steel over some time surface rust is possible you should get them ceramic coated if Motordyne does not offer ceramic coating your LTH’s as an option. Also ceramic coating will help with heat as well. Do you plan on installing straight pipes,resonators,or HFC? It will depend on what whp and wtq gains you actually see and also I would advise after you do your LTH install to retune. Although the answer would be yes you will gain whp and wtq after you install LTH’s but your Genuine Nissan OEM headers are not a bottleneck in your exhaust system. LTH header install would be worth it I believe if you are doing to labor. If you are paying labor to a shop to install your LTH for you I have seen people pay be charged 8-10+ hours labor depends on how is installing them? My first LTH install took 8 hours. The cons are that all LTH brands for our Z’s are expensive and are labor intensive. The PPE and FI LTH’s are also excellent quality LTH’s. I installed the Motordyne LTH’s along with the XYZ and straight pipes on a previous Z it was a nice set up I liked it.

I have the Motordyne LTH w/ Hemholz resonators. I went with the Motordyne LTH setup because of the option for the resonator primarily. I have a Fast Intentions non-resonated exhaust and had Motordyne Art Pipes installed prior to the LTH setup. I thought the Art Pipes kept the car quiet when I wanted/needed to be but the car screamed when full throttle with no rasp.
I owned Fast Intentions LTH several years ago on my first Z and they are exceptional quality as well. However, I had a Fast Intentions exhaust with 18" resonators on that car. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I'm also a big advocate for anything and everything Z1. But if you are going to do headers, I would recommend going with a Long Tube to experience the full benefits. Really just comes down to what you are looking for from an exhaust note/volume perspective. Power wise, they should all yield similar results with a tune. Personally I think the best sounding Z I have heard was Motordyne LTH w/ Hemholz resonators and Motordyne Exhaust. However, I chose the Fast Intentions exhaust because I preferred the design/look of the exhaust, especially with the Carbon Fiber mufflers. The FI exhaust is also substantially lighter than the Motordyne Exhaust, and cheaper while maintaining excellent quality. |

I have nearly the same setup as Johnny, MD LTH with helmholtz, and fast intentions tdx but with ss mufflers and 12 inch res. The noise level is very good, actually lower than when I had HFC with the catback on lower rpms.
I wouldn't say it is better or worse than other lth powerwise, it is up with them.
