Hi guys, having a problem with my cars cooling system fans. I've noticed that they won't come on as temperatures rises.
If I operate the a/c the fans come on but they won't at high temperature. As the car idles I can hear a dip in the rpms, a sound you usually hear on most cars as the fans come on, but the fans won't come on. I checked the fuses and I've checked the temperature at the lower and upper rad hoses, the thermostat seems to be open as temp between the two hoses slightly differ at long idle. |

Get an OBD scan tool and see if any DTCs have been thrown. You can buy one for as little as $15 or many auto parts stores will loan/rent you one.

Thanks. I'll try that. Believe it or not I hardly even drive the car. The fans just failed to operate properly the one time I decided to drive the bloody car.
I've also noticed that when I checked the temperature at the thermostat housing it was far different from what I saw on the dashboard. Any ideas? |

There are two fans (second kicks on when the temperature gets high). Are you sure one of them is not turning? When sitting still, you should overheat pretty quickly without any air flow across the radiator.
