Default 7at Fluid change

I have a 2011 with 77k miles and I have an automatic transmission, I am not sure if the fluid has been changed before, I drive my car pretty hard, should I do a drain and fill. the only reason I am asking is because a lot of people who didn't have problems did have problems after they changed their fluid.

I definitely would & pending your skill level...may want to do it a few times to ensure you get all old fluid out of converter etc.
It’s not hard. Just follow instructions in service manual.

Instructions are in service manual; I screenshot them & some are overlapped.

I reused my plugs & used a pump up style chemical sprayer to fill transmission from bottom,,,didn’t buy a fill port connector.

Or take it the dealer to change it, assuming theyre competent. Thats what I did. Wasnt cheap, but to me, was worth it in time. TBH, I asked for a Transmission Oil change, they did an Engine oil change instead. Pointed out their mistake, and took the car back to do a transmission oil change, so I was there longer than expected... but they only charged me 40 bucks for an ester oil change, so win win I suppose.

You can find IR thermometers at hardware stores, WalMart, Amazon, etc. As cheap as $15.

I used a Scan tool first time; but an infrared heat gun works just fine.

Coolant temp will go up to 140-160’ish before trans. temp gets up.
Not really hard once you do it the 1st time

I wouldn’t have dealer here do either; if you’re not doing yourself-find a local competent tech & have him read over instructions,,,really not hard.
5mm hex(Allen) overfill plug & 19mm wrench or socket for drain.
Make sure car is level & after draining; I would install 1gallon & install plug...start car & let idle & shift into different gears. Go under & remove 5mm plug while car is idling & have a drain pan underneath...this will put it really close.
Just follow instructions. But a 1-gallon pump up chemical sprayer works well installing fluid.
