Slave cylinder 2013 370Z
Question,
have 26,000 miles on car, clutch was loose for 2" .. never did that before and and then a few shifts later it went to the floor and i had to pull it up with my foot. Made it home, next day looked and no leaks and is working fine?? Now I only drove a few miles.. 10-12 shifts.... is this a sign to change slave cylinder or master cylinder???? thanks

With a lift and a second person to bleed out the system it does not look that difficult?? Is there anything i should know before i tackle this project? Is there a better fluid to use?

Bleeding is pretty straight-forward ... just follow the "pump-and-hold" method. In other words, have the person in the driver's seat, pump the clutch pedal several times and then hold it to the floor. While the pedal is held to the floor, the second person needs to open up the bleeder screw and allow the fluid to drain. Once the fluid has squirted out, close the bleeder screw. Repeat the process several times to remove all of the old fluid and any air that might be in the system. One person will need to check the fluid level in the reservoir regularly to ensure that fluid remains in it at all times (... otherwise air will be introduced into the system, and you will have to start over). Any good quality DOT4 fluid will work. I use ATE TYP200 Amber. A lot of folks use Motul RBF600. Some folks use Castrol Racing Fluid. Consider bleeding the system a temporary fix only. The loss of pedal pressure usually signals that either the CSC and/or CMC is on its way out. The bleeding will usually buy you some time, but you may want to consider replacing the CSC with a heavy duty version from Z Speed Performance (either the internal HD CSC or external CMAK unit) and/or a heavy duty CMC from RJM Performance in the near future to avoid being stranded. Good luck.

Bleeding the system will only put a bandaid on it and not fix your problem to only get worse over time and fail. If you do bleed your brake system use high temp brake fluid. Sounds like the CSC and/or CMC is failing and possibly a leak in the system. Upgrade to the Z Speed Performance CMAK CSC delete kit, RJM CMC, RJM Petal. Good time to consider installing a heavy duty clutch kit while you will be in there. There is no way around the CSC issue with the 370Z and I recommend fixing this soon and don’t have your Z end up on a flat bed tow trunk on it’s way to your mechanic or Nissan dealership as my Z did.

Thanks,
Looks like trans has to be dropped to do CSC? This is not my daily driver so i will start with new fluid first. Thanks again and will upgrade CSC for sure!
