Thoughts on my issue?
Hey fellas,
Got a problem. I have a 2012 7AT that I track. I notice towards the end of my heat the Z prevents me from downshifting OR I’m in full acceleration and it lurches forward with high rpms. Happened before my 34 row oil cooler. Still happens with my 34 row oil cooler. Engine temps never exceed 220. It gotta be heat because I’ll let it cool down half s lap and it’s fine. But after a while it starts back up again. Can’t be limp mode I don’t think? Tranny cooler needed? Bad tranny fluid maybe? Let me know what you guys think. Car drives fine on the street and spirited canyon runs. Writing to you from buttonwillow right now. Ambient temps are about 55 degrees. Thanks guy! Ben

A transmission cooler is a good investment and will prolong the life of your transmission. Heat is the number one killer of our 7AT transmissions.When you track your 370Z it exceeds normal heat conditions and it is making your transmission react the way it is. Also changing your transmission fluid would be a good idea too.

Hey guys,
Figured out what it was. Fuel Starvation. Filled up, drove much harder to really try and duplicate the problem. Worked out fine. Talked to a couple 370's on the track. They concurred, same symptoms happened for manual drivers too, same corner and everything. Hard right turns mixed in with the right amount of G's going left plus just under 3/4 a tank and it happens consistently. Thanks for chiming in though!!

An occasional drain & fill (about 4qts.) will make a world of difference on shifting;
may want to flush the 1st time.
