OS Giken LSD - Tuning
Just looking for feedback from anyone that has installed the OS Giken Superlock LSD on their Z. I have one of these in my S2000 and love it, so decided to replace my VLSD with the same unit. My diff builder recommended removing a bunch of plates to reduce the lock up by 30-40% (from the way it's supplied by OSG).
First time out on track with the new LSD and it's really not performing as I expected :-( Has anyone else adjusted the lock up on their OSG unit, or did you just install it the way it was supplied? |

I had one installed and we left it as it came from OS Giken. Z1 recommended it that way. It works perfectly. Why the heck did the guy mess with it. From what I remember it is a 1.5 with 70% to 100% lock up from them. Mine performed flawlessly on the Dragon this week.

Mine is the same as Spooler, 1.5 factory setup. I believe the factory does not want anyone adjusting them because of the high probability of it getting screwed up. May want to send it in and have OSG fix it.
BTW, what are your symptoms of "Not Performing"

I spoke with OS Giken about retuning from the factory spec when I purchased mine. They told me out of the box it is setup for a typical NA track day car and when I got above 400whp to send it to them for a retune. Took their word for it and have had nothing but wonderful things to say about mine as it came from the factory.

By "not performing" I mean that it doesn't lock up aggressively enough, and when it does lock up, it's inconsistent in how it behaves. Also, I am still spinning up the inside rear left in tight left hand corners, which is what I was hoping the diff would eliminate.
I will be taking it out and getting it put back to OSG factory spec. Hopefully then it will behave exactly as I was hoping. |

Been driving my Z hard with the nice hot streets. Tires are sticky and I can't seem to brake it loose on my favorite 2nd gear turns. I'm going to need to take them faster. Or, maybe I just need another 100 hp.
