I guess I should have said that with an Accusump, the shortcoming is that it is filled with oil from the sump, so if you have a 1 quart Accusump,

I guess I should have said that with an Accusump, the shortcoming is that it is filled with oil from the sump, so if you have a 1 quart Accusump, best to have a sump extender to increase capacity by a quart becasue once you start the engine, the first thing the oil pump does is fill up the accusump again which means that the oil in it never circulates thru the engine.
Putting extra oil in the sump can risk the crank hitting the oil and foaming it which can be an engine killer. Accusump requires a deeper oil pan as a consequence |
