Help with Fluid Changes
So I am coming up on 30k miles in my 2015 Z, and it's probably time to change out differential, transmission, brake, and clutch fluids. Just got my oil changed at the dealership today at 26.9k miles and they wanted close to $1k just to change differential and brake fluids along with some fuel system cleaning and 'decarbonization'. I just laughed...
In any event, what are the proper high performance fluids for transmission, differential, and clutch?? Brakes are easy, but want to see what's proven for these other components... Figure I can purchase all the fluids separately, and take them to my local performance shop who has installed several mods for me. Know they will charge me reasonably for the labor. Appreciate the help greatly... Last edited by chopin_guy88; 01-04-2017 at 04:16 PM. |

There definitely thread for each fluid. Personally, I do Royal Purple for oil, Redline for transmission fluid, generic for clutch, power steering, and brake. Distilled water mixed with Prestone for coolant. Haven't swapped differential so can't help you there.

You want to get a Synthetic GL-4 fluid for the tranny (3 quarts, 1 extra for good measure), for the rearend you will need Synthetic GL-5 (3 quarts), Brake fluid and clutch fluid you will need 4 of the Motul RBF 600. You have the Blue Nissan coolant, you are good for a while. (60-90k) You can reuse all of the cooper washers, no need to replace them unless they get scared by a piece of dirt. Powersteering is Mercron 4, I prefer the Nissan power steering fluid. It is good for a while.

I've always used Mobil one in engine, and redline for tranny and diff.
