Default Screeching sound

Last night on my way home I went through a puddle that I didn't see doing about 40 and it slowed me right down to like 15, anyways afterwards anytime I was moving and not on the throttle there was a loud screeching sound coming from the right front of the car. It's a 2016 370z nismo with only 3700 miles on it, any ideas what it could be?

Sounds like you got your belts wet and they were slipping ... should be fine after they dry

This is probably what is happening, but there is only "belt", not "belts".

So the car sat from Friday night till today at 3:30, drove it and the sound came right back, same thing it only happens when moving and off the gas. Just before I got home it tripped 2 codes, p2096 and p2098. For modifications I have the stillen long tube intakes, Tomei expreme exhaust, motordyne xyz pipe and aam hfc. Any ideas? Read up on the codes and I'm in the process of getting tuned but nobody mentioned anything about a screeching sound when tripping those codes.

Hard to say, with that mileage, I'd put it on a tow truck and take it to the dealer for warranty service.....

I agree with the "probably a slipping belt" crowd. The belt may be worn or the idler is is not working properly. Easy to check with the hood up and someone working the throttle.

Edit: If system voltage drops when the squeal happens, it's a slipping belt (or an alternator bearing going out).

Put your nose under there and look. Hitting that much water puts a ton of force on parts that aren't designed for it. Could be as simple as a bent bracket. Also, you may have ingested a bunch of water into those cold air intakes. That can be very bad. Take off the cold air intakes before taking it to the dealer just in case. Good luck.

Problem resolved, getting under the car isn't something I can do with a flip of the switch with a busy schedule and living in an apartment complex so that's why I came here to get a head start on what to maybe look for first, but was able to get under it at a friends garage and turns out the impact with the puddle was enough to bend the heat shield between my exhaust and driveshaft into the driveshaft so that resulted in the nasty sound. As for the codes that's just a result of the modifications and no tune yet. Thanks all for the possible sources to my issue!

I wouldn't be waiting on the tune,,,you're missing out on power & potentially hurting the engine and all affected components.

Yes I know, the mods haven't been on for long and I only went exhaust and intake so the tune will come as soon as I can get one scheduled, learned my lesson with my Subaru haha.
