Default Loud bang noise when I press in the clutch in 1st gear

Hey all, just want to know if this is normal. Sometimes when I'm in 1st gear and press the clutch in I'll hear a loud clunking noise. It definitely comes from the transmission area. It doesn't happen all the time and doesn't happen in any other other gear. It may very well be driver error as I might clutch in too fast and not slow enough. It's way worse when the car gets hot after being driven for some time but also happens on a colder car, just not as loud.

Normal for this car? Car is a 2014 Nismo. Thanks

Had that happen to me. You can get some strange noises when in first with stop and go traffic.

Yes!! A loud bang or clunk when strolling along in 1st and pressing in the clutch. Hard to believe it's "normal" when no other manual car of mine haso done this

It's the design of the clutch. Don't worry about it. It is normal. Dual mass flywheels do some strange things but they are quite for the most part.

Completely normal, my G37 did it as well. Once you figure out exactly what makes it happen (letting off the gas and pushing the clutch in immediately IIRC) you can alter your driving style slightly if it really bothers you

Why does this happen only in first? My only experience is with much older clutches (manual linkage, throwout bearing, &c) and I can't think of a reason the clunking would only happen in a certain gear.

The only thing I can come up, mine does it too, is that there is more, for lack of a better word, force in the system in the lower gear and the bang is to do with disconnecting that. It seems to do it more when coasting to a stop uphill in my case.

My car does that also and it is usually at low speed with the throttle off.

Your explanation seems reasonable.

hmmmmm That would lead me to believe that there is too much "slack" or "windup" somewhere - eg, engine/trans mounts. Might be fixable. YMMV

Sounds reasonable except the only feedback is through the clutch pedal, can't feel it with the other foot on the floor or in the seat. As for the bang and rattles, I'm almost certain the rattle is flywheel chatter so the bang could be just an extra loud "chatter". I've only had the car a month and it only has 5xk, bought it used, on it so I'm still feeling it out and learning it. Just trying to make an educated guess.
