CSF Radiator Leak Advice
Hey guys I had a CSF radiator installed on my GTM TT'd 370Z back in August to deal with some heat issues, and last Thursday night noticed that my water temp was going up really high and really quick. I was getting an oil change done on Friday anyway, so I wasn't too worried (figured I was just low on coolant). I drop the car off on Friday morning and when I popped the hood I noticed there was no coolant left in the tank. I never saw any pools in my garage so I was hoping there was some pinhole leak somewhere.
My mechanic calls me later that day and tells me that there is a huge leak in the CSF radiator, and noticed dried coolant on seals where the GTM kit cools the turbo. We don't know if the GTM kit is an issue yet because the leak on the radiator is go big they can't even pressure test. MY BIG QUESTION IS, do I get another CSF radiator to replace it? Should I just put my stock radiator back on? I can't afford getting this radiator installed and reinstalled over and over. Anyone have experience with the new radiators they have out? I supposedly have the revised version already, since mine was purchased in August of 2015 (supplier also confirmed that they only received my stock in July). Thanks guys. And please keep your fingers crossed for me that the GTM kit is ok (since I don't even know if that can be replaced at this point). Cheers! |

Contact Ravi @CSF to see if he can help.
Is it really a HUGE leak? Because I used a bit of stop leak radiator fluid additive (like 1/3 of what was required) then once it sealed, I changed the fluid. No more leaking

Well, my mechanic's exact words were "we tired refilling the coolant but your radiator is just pissing everywhere", so I don't know.
Getting another CSF radiator isn't the issue here. My mechanic's supplier has already issued a refund and has another one waiting to ship out to me. I'm just wondering if it's worth it. Couple threads down there's a guy that had to get three replacements so far. While the radiator was working it was just awesome. Kept my temps down on some pretty hard drives. I'm just wondering if this is going to be an ongoing issue whether or not it's worth it to keep this guy. I'm glad the stopleak worked for you, but am I really dishing out a grand so I can use stopleak on it? |

I'm on my second right now. And I have a coolant leak. It may be the water pump though. I'm looking into it

The radiator is so beautiful and solid looking. Welds look like the person knew what they were doing. I can understand maybe even a 10% failure rate, but judging from these comments it seems to be much higher.
My mechanic needs an answer soon. I guess I'll take another leap of faith. |

The first install went without any fuss but thanks for the offer. I'll be ordering a replacement. Maybe I should reach out to CSF so they can send one that they've done some extra testing on to my mechanic.

Make sure you get some of DE's drain plug bolts and some better washers before you install the new one. It'll save TONS of headaches.
