Smoother shifting when car is cold?

So I recently bought a 2010 M6 and i've noticed that when i shift when the car is cold, its a noticeable smoother shift then when it warms up. Have

So I recently bought a 2010 M6 and i've noticed that when i shift when the car is cold, its a noticeable smoother shift then when it warms up. Have you guys experienced this?

its the other way for me, something seems odd. Whats the mileage on her? Do you know the condition of the clutch?

Mine is the same way. It shifts smoother when cold and my mileage is 5k

you know the Z by nature is not a smooth shifter. It's hard to explain but if you drove a Porsche Cayman you will know what I am talking about. Shifting in the Z requires effort versus say the Cayman, it's effortless and smooth as butter.

My Z is harder to shift smoothly when it's cold. That would seem logical, I can't imagine why a car would shift smoother when cold.

maybe the thicker oil is dampening some clunkiness of the transmission

A lot more clunky when cold for me, buttery smooth* once warmed up.

*this type of butter is made of rocks.
