Default Oil Pressure Adapter - Which One

Hello all,

I am shopping for a "T" adapter for the OEM oil pressure sender.

It is my understanding that
  1. the OEM pressure sender is BSP
  2. gauges use NPT
Therefore, we'd need something like this... i think?
Can someone please check my math on this one???

Thanks all

I bought mine on the UK Ebay because there were none available in the states at the time. Its exactly like this one:

Oil pressure gauge T-piece

The price has definitely gone up!

Your math is right. You need an adaptor with a male BSPT to fit into the OEM female BSPT port ... a female BPST port to accept the male OEM BPST pressure sensor ... and a female NPT port to accept the after-market male NPT pressure sensor.

Sweet, that's what I had figured. Now, to find the bloody thing

Are all bsp threads the same size? Or what's the OEM size

The thread size is 1/8" BSPT and 1/8" NPT. Go to the autotech motoring website at autotechmotoring.com … click on "engine … and it shows an oil pressure sensor adaptor that should work. It has two NPT ports to accommodate two types of after-market sensors (e.g. oil pressure/oil temperature), but if you only need to use one of the ports, they sell plugs to seal the other port. I ordered one of the adaptors and the plug, but I'm yet to do the install. Trust this helps.

JUST FOR REFERENCE:

Defi pressure gauges use a BSPT thread type.
So if you're wiring up a Defi pressure gauge, you'll need a tee adapter.

BSPT Male = into engine
BSPT Female = oem pressure switch
BSPT Female = Defi gauge sending unit

Additionally... this part is NOT AVAILABLE in any country by any manufacturer.

However, there is a BSPT x BSPT x NPT adapter available.

THEREFORE, we must use:
  • BSPT Male = into engine
  • BSPT Female = oem pressure switch
  • NPT Female = Defi gauge sending unit with an separate adapter from the BSPT Defi sending unit to the NPT threads of the adapter.

Please don't flame me. I thought gtm had what you're looking for. I remember seeing an adapter on their website some time ago.

So I am going to make a custom manifold for this as my current setup of adapters is touching the sway bar.... What I am thinking is a block of aluminum with the following for ports, in a remote spot :

1/8" BPST female port, will have a flexible braided line from manifold to engine
1/8" BPST female port, for the OEM pressure sensor
1/8" BPST female port, for the Defi racer pressure sensor

Does this sound like the correct thread sizes? Just want to be sure before I buy a tap and drill holes.

Thank you

Oil Pressure Sensor Adapter, 1/8" BSPT - Engine - Autotech Motoring

Anyone know the quality difference between the 2? One is almost 2x more expensive. Also can these adapters fit without hitting the sway bars especially if you got thicker aftermarket sways?
