Default Differential suggestions??

Hey guys I'm looking to upgrade my base z diff from the stock open diff to a lsd. Been looking at the quaife but not sure. Also been contemplating on 1.5 or 2 way. Anyone have any suggestions? Want it for street use mainly, but occasional track use and also for running the tail of the dragon for zdayz.

Thanks in advanced

While we are on the subject, what lsd would I be getting if I get the sports package. What is 1.5 and 2.0?

You get a VLSD (Viscous) with the Sports package and it isn't as bad as most here make it out to be. I have a Quaife now but I track my car a lot. For the street the VLSD is fine.
1.5 and 2.0 relate to clutch based LSD.

Best way to understand the difference is 1.5 locks under drive torque and partially locks under brake torque, but a 2.0 locks equally under bot drive and brake torque.

Quaife or similar will be best as a 2-way that is set hard is very aggressive and difficult to live with for a DD

I have a Quaife with 3.9 gears for long and open/flowing tracks we visit, and a KAZZ 2-way with 4.08 gears for the shorter tracks that are more stop/start in nature.

The KAAZ is a PITA on the road as the axles bang and crack and the tyres skip as it is wound up tight - not a lot of "slip" with the settings I have because at our slow tracks - Winton/Wakefield Park/Mallala (for those in AUS), you want both wheels driving instantly you get on the power.

The Quaife is much more progressive.

The diff thread has a heap of good info ..... have fun with your research
