NEW ZSpeed CSC installed. Dirty fluid still?
So I bit the bullet and bought a new ZSpeed CSC. I talked my local dealer to convince my extended warranty company that I needed it and the master cylinder replaced. After some back and forth, the warranty company approved the work. My dealer (on the down low) installed the ZSpeed CSC in liue of the OEM CSC wioth a new OEM master cylinder. Total cost to me (including the ZSpeed CSC) : $425 ($325 CSC + $100 warranty deductible).
When I got the car back about 2 months, it felt amazing! In fact, it still does. The peddle has no play in it and the engagement points are 100% consistent. My concern is with the fluid. I decided to check it today and to my surprise, it is getting dirty already!! I notice that there are little bits of black material floating around and the fluid itself looks like it is getting black again. Obviously, my concern is that this contaminated fluid will damage the new CSC. I thought that with the ZSpeed CSC and a new master cylinder this issue should have been resolved. Has anyone else with this configuration experienced this? Should I flush it out and hope it doesnt continue to happen? Last edited by radensb; 04-01-2015 at 12:07 PM. |

It takes a couple of times after an issue to get all the old nasty out. I would have the fluid exchanged again with Dot4 fluid. Don't wait. Get it changed again.

Was the fluid dirty with particles floating in it before you swapped out the OEM master cylinder and slave cylinder? If so, I agree that it's possible that the fluid is being contaminated with residual crap that remained in the system, particularly if it wasn't bled fully and properly. Regardless, you should bleed the system ASAP with Motul RBF 600 or another high quality DOT4 fluid ... and then regularly check the appearance of the fluid to ensure it remains clean.

I have never had a master or slave failure, but my clutch reservoir always has those little black bits floating in it. I get them out once or twice a year, they always come back. 3-4 years later, everything still works fine, still have those little bits floating in the reservoir too.
