Specialty Z CSC, is this normal?
I nave been having problems with an inconsistent clutch pedal. The clutch pedal engagement keeps sinking closer and closer to the floor. I have just dropped the transmission again to make sure all the likes were nice leak free, they are not. I then had the clutch stepped on to see what is happening.
Step on clutch, the inner metal ring moves out, it popped off, inner rubber seal can be seen, as it approaches 1/4'' form the edge, I can visualize oil seeping pass the rubber seal. Normal? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWGP...ature=youtu.be YzGyz Last edited by YzGyz; 03-10-2015 at 11:36 PM. Reason: forgot the video. |

Nope. Specialty Z strikes again. Good luck dealing with them.

Here is a video of it in action. I plan to call Specialty Z in the morning but, I'm looking for any insight I can get now.

I'm at a stand still right now. I can't/wont do anything until I figure out if this is normal. I just gave Specialty Z a call and left a message. I guess they are under a hood or car right now. I'll give them 30 minutes or so before I call again. It "seems" like it is working correctly but I'm not sure. Anyhoo, time for breakfast.

the issue you described at the beginning sounds like a Master cylinder starting to fail, (the whole loosing pressure little by little) I would highly recommend talking to Seb or Jonathan about it, they will take care of it. those guys are real stand up and always back up the parts they sell. from my experience you are not supposed to press in the clutch pedal while the transmission is removed from the car because it'll hyper extend the CSC and ruin it. I can't speak for the SZ kit since we have never had any issues with it but I'm sure Seb will have more details for you on the subject.

I already have a new MC installed. It feels exactly the same as the OEM one that comes with the car. I already talked to Seb real fast and he said he will look at the videos and respond. I'm waiting for the respond and getting anxious as I ave to go to work on Sunday and need my car.

Dude, their customer service isn't what you're making it out to be. If you get a defective part, they blame everyone but themselves and leave you hanging.

to the OP, glad you got things confirmed and are moving forward with the build! I had their CSC in my personal car along with their High 5 clutch kit and loved it. i ran it for almost two years without any issues before i sold the car.
I am sorry you feel this way, I am speaking solely from my personal experience. they have always been more than helpful to us. I'm glad the OP was able to speak with them confirm his issue and move forward with his build. |

Great service from SZ. Dropped my car off for a tune and diff bushing install. He had his tech drive me to work about 3 miles out. Picked me up in time for the tune so I can watch in the afternoon. Took the time to explain.

I been working on other things as I been lazy and didn't want to camp out under the car. It's only confirmed that the install was correct and the CSC is working correctly. I still have to figure out the smooshy pedal. I will be gravity bleeding my clutch. The transmission will be be reinstalled before I sleep tonight.

Yup, SZ has always given me nothing but the best service and consider them to be more than just the guys that work on my Z. I'm going on my second year with their Street Max flywheel and CSC. No issues so far!
