^^^^ Was that confirmed? Or do you mean, only with other mods? 1slow made good power with the cams, or so I thought, although that was only one variable in the whole equation.
OP, opening the VVEL head is not for the squeamish (Nissan officially regards them as "non-serviceable") and without tuning, expect problems, even on an install where all goes well.

1slow had a LOT of other mods, so its individual contribution isn't clear, but maybe review his "highest hp Z" thread for clues...?

There are a lot of things that need to be uncorked before you will see gains from the cams, they are there but you wont notice the jun cams until you get above 8000 rpm.

You can't really compare his car to anyone else's because that thing was modded to hell and back. Who else has a dry sump? And a different manifold? And no AC? And dual 3.5" intakes from a DE?

Do you have to have all that stuff to be able to handle 8K RPMs repeatedly? I know the dry sump is needed cause the stock and Nismo oil pumps fail at those RPMs. But is the manifold needed for them? I guess it doesn't really matter since anyone putting a dry sump system is likely to have an exorbitant amount of mods already.
