Anyone used an Add-A-Circuit before?
I am trying to tap my fuse box to direct connect my radar detector. I removed the 10AMP fuse for the radio, spliced the direct connect cable to the detector, put two 10AMP fuses in the adapter and plugged back in...the radio works but the radar detector won't turn on.
Any thoughts?

You messed up somewhere if the radio is working. Loose or bad fuse? Bad splice? (You might not have pushed the wire into that opaque blue connector when you crimped). Polarity incorrect going to the detector? BTW, you don't need a 10-amp fuse for a radar detector, more like 1.5 to 3.
Do you have a multimeter or test light to see if you're getting power to the new wire? |

The cord from the detector should contain two wires: power and ground. You might have power going to it fine but if the ground wire isn't grounded, it won't work of course. That or you've swapped power and ground.

You were right...it was the ground, or lack of having it connected. Took of the panel covering the panel area and found the ground bolt. Attached it and the detector came right on.
Thanks! Another satisfied forum user.
