Default Another Question About Replacing the Battery

I did a search about replacing the battery and just want to double check before I get started. My '09 has almost 35K miles and I want to install a new battery as a preemptive measure against it failing in the next few months. I understand about lowering the windows first and the need to reset them after installing the new battery and to disconnect the negative cable first.

The Service Manual though has this whole section about ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REMOVING BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL : Required Procedure After Battery Disconnection (General Information PDF, Page GI-52) and references Automatic Temperature Control, several items related to it along with the Power Window Control System. What the heck is that all about ? Am I going to have to take it to the dealer for resets after I just swap out the battery ?
I was just assuming that the clock, maintenance reminder feature and radio stations would need to be reset along with the windows. What has other people's experiences been ?
Thanks

I have disconnected my battery multiple times and the only things needed to be reset for the windows, head unit and clock.

No need to take it in, Its not that complicated.

Remove the battery cover and the cover panel, Disconnect the negative then positive then swap in the new battery, and reverse the procedure.

All that's left is to reset your windows, and your fav radio stations and your done.

Here are the window reset procedure just in case.

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Close the door.

3. Open the window completely by operating
the power window switch.

4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to
close the window, and then hold the switch
more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.

5. Release the power window switch. Operate
the window by the automatic function to
confirm the initialization is complete.

6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other
windows.

Disconnect, the negative first, then reconnect the positive first on the new battery

Doing mine right now as a matter of fact. I noticed my terminals and clamps are a little dark and a little corrosion so I'm getting everything back to shiny metal before I put it all back together.

I swapped out the original battery this morning with one from Autozone, their Duralast Gold model. I found a 20% off coupon online which saved me about $25. The install was pretty straightforward, I removed the cover and then 2 sections of plastic cowling to give good access. After the install I needed to reset the AM stations, both FM bands but interestingly enough, all the XM satellite stations were still in the memory. The clock and maintenance reminders needed to be reset and I had to turn the "effects" feature that causes the needle sweep at start up back off again. I also reset the windows just in case.
