you're still missing the fender seal that runs down along the side of the hood.

By removing the fender seals, I avoided drilling, cutting, grinding, filing or sanding any of the OEM parts. I used the holes that are already there and made some brackets that would fit.

More info please. Unless you don't want the rest of the community to benefit from your hard work. SELL it as a kit! lol

1. Open hood and put up the hood prop.
2. Remove the hood seals from each side.
3. Take a look at the holes on each of the fenders/quarters.

4. Measure the distance between the holes on each fender and the OEM
bracket nut that is closest to the front of the car for an approx
measurement for the Strut/Shock extended length. When you take your
measurement, you will be able to figure out the extended length of the
Strut you will want to use. I used 18-1/2" 45LB force, I will suggest
that you use 50LB MAX., anything over that and you will cause the hood
to bulge out. You can get these Struts at www.mcmasters.com I think
they are on page 1187through page 1191 try and get the one that has a
small attachment head and with the attachment ball already connected to
it, much better price. I bought my set at NAPPA AUTO PARTS and the
attachment balls were separate. I bought a 3FT piece of Aluminum angle.
Take a look at the pics that I posted in the Thread
"Pics of my hood strut mod" there you will see how I used the OEM hood
mount and the hole in the fenders to attach the angle iron.
