Z1 Elite Scan Tool
I finally purchased one for $190 (tax & shipped) with the Black Friday deal and received it within 2 days of order, and am now figuring out what I can do with it. So far, the most useful thing is to finally turn off the PITA auto-lock 'feature' so that I can open the doors and trunk with car running. I did find 4 different mode options I can choose between; but I don't know what these are; so I just disabled it all.
I'm trying to find the TPMS reset function, but I think I've been through all the menus and haven't seen it even though Z1 indicates it can. My main reason for buying was to activate ABS in brake bleeding as well as to retract brake calipers, but I'm not yet certain how to do that. I've been through the ABS menu and it looks like these functions are there, but it's not obvious how to activate them in the proper sequence. If others have figured this out, would appreciate the assist, and it would be nice to have a dedicated thread to describe capabilities others are using. It can clear the code, but if there is a fault it's going to keep coming on until you find and fix the fault. I've never looked closely at this section; but if it is like ABS system it may be able to tell you which airbag or sub-module it reporting the fault.
