Default Z1 Oil Cooler Sandwich Plate

I have my oil cooler all installed except the sandwich plate.

So when I go to put the sandwich plate on, I tighten the plate center fitting onto the original filter fitting. When it is tightened down all the way, the plate is still fairly loose. I can easily spin it. Am I missing a washer or something? All I have is the fitting and the plate with a seal on the engine side. Is there supposed to be something else?

As it sits, if I put oil in it, it will just end up on the ground.

You should take the factory oil stabilizer off to ensure it fits properly.
