Default 2015+ Nismo Rear Chassis Brace Install

I havent seen much information on this so I thought Id share.
The 2015+ Nismos come with an additional rear chassis brace that mounts in the trunk underneath the main center brace.
It is located in the area where the sound amp and satelite radio units are mounted.
It is also the same bar that comes in the nismo chassis brace kit. It is the black one with red brackets as seen here: https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspen...it-p-4746.html.
The one that comes on the 2015+ nismos is all black but it is the same bar.
It can also be purchased from z1 here: https://www.z1motorsports.com/rear-s...mo-p-9282.html
and the brackets here: https://www.z1motorsports.com/rear-s...mo-p-9281.html.
I was able to find the bar on ebay with the bracket from a car that was being parted out for much less so keep an eye out on ebay or part outs on the forum.

The install is pretty straight forward, I wont cover removal of the trunk paneling because that has been covered in other write ups but removing both sides makes it simple, but I guess you might get away with removing just one side.
After that remove the large foam piece that sits over the sound amp and satelite radio unit.
The bar will bolt to the trunk floor and along the side frame rail area. The 4 bolts for the trunk floor were already there on my car.

The ones that go to the frame rail area were not and the holes were covered with black plugs.
I found the bolts here:https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/part...56-8201f.html? You will need to get 4.

These 2 photos show we're it mounts to the trunk floor and the bolts that were already there.

These 2 photos show we're it mounts to the sides/ frame rail area using the bolts I posted the link for.

And this is it installed, I left everything loose until it was all lined up, including the bolts that hold the bar to the bracket. Then give it one final tightening.

I still have to cut the foam piece before assembly. I will update once I do. It's been pretty cold here lately so I haven't been out to the garage.

The foam piece is different also, that can be bought from a dealer. I don't have the number in front of me. The front brace can be had off a Nismo but is different then the one in kit. The rear bottom brace can be only in the kit. Haven't put that on yet.

Here s my setup, painted it to match the kit.

And with Nismo foam piece installed.

Here is the picture of the rear bottom brace.

Yeah the nismo foam piece is thinner but it's over $100 from nissan. I will be cutting mine to fit and posting pictures.

Great info guys, definitely helpful!
The link to this should be added to the info about Nismo body dampers or merged together so if you want to have all the OEM braces from Nismo on your 370z you need front + rear body dampers and these front + rear braces, definitely available from time to time on eBay.
Can you please shot where is the additional bottom brace located please?
The front apron brace is right behind the crash bar mounted to the radiator core support as well as the front body damper but a bit higher.

I have bought the Nismo F+R body dampers from eBay and was in impression I'm done with wanna-be-Nismo upgrade, but by accident realized there is additional trunk brace and front apron brace.
The bottom one is new to me and as you say it's extra, doesn't come with Nismo model from factory. 2014-2018 has different front appron brace than 2018+. (nissanpartsdeal.com >> Body (Front, Roof & Floor) > Front Apron & Radiator Core Support)

Nismo's don't have these braces. They have the chassis dampeners.

Excellent subject.

However, did you notice any handling differences or let's say improvements?

And how many pieces are they? Because when I check Z1 website I found more than one. Is that correct?

Maybe for rear and front? I might be wrong. Hence I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,
Nasm

It's a 3 piece kit.

The front piece bolts to the front frame rails at the crash bar mounts.

The interior piece mounts behind the seats as shown.

The rear piece mounts to the rear sub-frame.
nasm likes this.
