Default DIY: Trunk Lightbulb Swap/Replacement

I'm sure this tutorial has been done before but figured I would give my take on it since I couldn't find one with images.

This tutorial will cover how to replace/swap the light bulb in the trunk.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: Less than 5 minutes

You Will Need:
1xT10/T3.25 Bulb (Can be LED or incandescent)
1xSmall Trim Removal Tool (can also use a flat head)

Instructions:

Step 1: Open the trunk and locate the light housing. It should be down and on your right, in the panel connected to the rear bumper.

Step 2: Using your trim removal tool or flat head (trim removal tool is preferable as it won't scratch the interior), carefully pry the light housing out to reveal the wiring harness.

Step 3: Unplug the wiring harness by pressing the clip on the connector. Don't force it or you might damage the connector. If you are replacing an incandescent bulb be careful, if the bulb was on long enough it will be hot!

Step 4: You should now be able to gently pinch the bulb and slide it out of the housing. Insert the new bulb in its place. If you are replacing it with an LED, it is possible you might reverse the polarity on the first try. You will want to plug the housing back in to the wiring harness to test it. If the light doesn't come on, reverse the bulb.

Step 5: Reconnect the housing to the wiring harness and reinsert the housing into the trunk panel. Done.
