Question 2009 Coolant change questions.

Just purchased an 09 z. 32,000 miles. Question, going to change the coolant this fall. Should I change any of the cooling hoses? They look fine but are 9 years old. What about the serpentine belt, since I am already there??

Congrats on your new purchase. TBH your coolant should be good even at that mileage, but if you want to drain and fill it to get some fresh coolant in there it won't hurt at all and give you peace of mind. Upgraded the hoses to silicone also adds to that peace of mind and gives you some color under the hood.

The serpentine belt could be changed. I haven't seen any belts break around 30k miles even though they're old. In the cold weather if you start noticing a chirping noise from under the hood that happens only when cold but goes away soon after during the day, it's most likely your serpentine belt.

My serpentine belt gave me one morning of chirp this past April but it still looks good. That being said I'll most likely change it right before the cold hits again later this year.

I've seen many cooling hoses go 100K miles and more. Give them a good inspection and replace as needed.

Your serpentine belt is probably still OK. Inspect and replace as needed. As per TechnicZ, the belt will often squeal for a while before it breaks - but don't wait until it gets to that point.
