Default Swift springs not fitting stock nismo top hat?

Tried installing my springs today on my 12' nismo. After taking the stock springs off and installing the swifts, I noticed the notch that's slanted for the end of the coil to sit against when on the swift makes the top hat not line up with the 3 tower holes. I couldn't figure out if maybe leaving the end of the swift spring not on that notch and rotating it about an inch to make the holes line up would matter? Either way it whooped my *** and I'm not sure why I couldn't get the spring to sit aligned with that angled cut in the rubber. Sound familiar to anyone else? I wish I took photos but I think anyone who knows the rubber part of the strut tower knows what I mean. It fits snug on the stock spring and not so well on the swift.

I had the same issue when installing my swifts. I had to put the stock springs back on and off a few times to figure it out. What you'll need to do is reinstall the stock springs and then mount up the entire shock assembly. When installed mark the top hat in a way that you'll be able to know it's position when removed. Then you can disassemble and install the swift springs. Then make sure the top hat is lined up using the mark you made. That way the 3 top holes will line up when you install it. As far as the rubber notch, I tried to get it perfectly aligned with the spring notch but it just wouldn't happen. So there is about a half inch gap. It did not affect performance or cause any issues. Hope this helps.
