Default Help PLEASE! - Yaw Sensor Switch Major issue

I was doing the yaw sensor rocker switch mod when i made a major mistake. I was testing the switch before i soldered everything up. I accidentally grounded the led light wire on the hand brake bolt. I got a nice spark and now I'm having all sorts of issues:

- ABS light on
- VDC light on (even with cut wire reconnected)
- key fob light on (maybe this is normal? I don't remember seeing it before tho)
- tpms light on
- Brake light on

The car will start fine, but the push button isn't responsive in trying to turn the car off.

Did I fry a bunch of electronics or is there a blown fuse that I'm missing?? It doesn't look like the ABS fuse is blown....

I did a lot of searching before I created this thread. I'm sorry if I missed something existing.

Looks like you damaged gauge console maybe even some parts of the ECU
Does key remote work fine?

Yes, the key fob works perfectly fine.

The push button works fine going from ACC to ON to OFF, except when I actually start the car. That is when turning the car off becomes a problem. I press the push start ~3 consecutive times and then it finally turns off and resets to ACC mode.

I hope it's nothing serious.....

Ugh. I can't be the first person to have done this.

I was hoping it was a fuse or something. I really didn't want to take it to the dealer

Thanks for responding to my other post. I didn't think anyone would see it in that old thread, so I started this one.

I'm digging around in the service manual now. My forte definitely isn't in electronics, so I'm stumbling through it.

Default Solved - Oops

Okay, so I may have overreacted, even though I think it may have been partly justified.

I thought I had checked all of the fuses, and they were all good.

What I forgot about was the large fuse box inside the battery compartment. You have to remove all of the plastic coverings to reach it. Sure enough, the ABS cont fuse was blown.

Replaced the fuse and the power steering came back, and the VDC/ABS/Brake lights all went out.

However, I still had the TPMS light on, key fob light on, and issues turning the car off. I decided to take the car for a spin down the street and by the time I pulled back into my garage, everything was back to normal.

Sorry for freaking out and thanks for quick support. I was genuinely worried I fried some expensive sensors / ECU ports.

Glad you got it figured out. Always work on these things with the battery disconnected.

If some of your gremlins return, you may want to reset the ECM. At least one thread on this site telling how to do so or it's in the FSM. The car will run rough while the ECM re-learns the engine and you have to drive quite a few miles before emissions will test good.

Killing power to the car while you work on the wiring is always a good idea, especially if you are not electrically-inclined.

Thanks Penguin. The problem was I was trying to test the switch. Lesson still learned, though!

Thanks SouthArk. I just did an ECU reset. Lesson definitely learned. I think I got pretty lucky here.
