Clear coat bubbles forming in factory paint
Anyone else experience this issue? I've noticed that a few, very tiny bubbles have appeared on my hood in random places over the last week or so. I did recently polish and seal it a few weeks ago, and they weren't there then. I have a few on my fenders as well. It is factory paint.
Is it the heat? It is my daily driver and I am forced to park in the sun; been over 90 here recently. I've been searching all day and I've been reading a lot about Nissan factory paint defects. I came across at least one post in the forum archives where someone mentioned it happens in the summer but they disappear in cooler temps. Can anyone confirm this observation?

Sounds strange... And just MHO, the "crappy Nissan paint" I think is fueled by owners who get rock chips, and are pissed... factory paint specs are to put it on as thin as possible to cover...All manufacturers do this. Making the paint 5x thicker will not stop it from chipping. You repair them and move on. No ones paint is bulletproof.
sorry for the rant........... Like Ryan posted above.......Pics may help

But an '09 just popping now in 2014? Is that possible?
Here are the best pics I could get in the light outside this evening once I got home. I noticed a few new ones appearing on the fenders too. No problems on the rear yet, only the hood and fenders which I polished a week ago. 370z_Paint_Defects_1.jpg 370z_Paint_Defects_2.jpg 370z_Paint_Defects_3.jpg 370z_Paint_Defects_4.jpg Since they are showing on the fenders I guess I can eliminate excessive engine heat as the cause. My Z has been running 220-230 consistently lately in the summer heat. As you can see they are fairly sparse and spread out and not really appearing in clusters except for a group of about 4 on the hood. I just need to figure out what's going on so I can hopefully stop it from getting worse.

Yes, I did buy it used. But, there are a ton of touched up rock chips all over the front end, and some etching in the clear from bird crap too. If it was resprayed, it definitely wasn't recently.

Can op guarantee paint on effected panels to be original?
Pics you posted show contamination in paint in my humble opinion. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

I can't guarantee it's 100% factory paint. I know the bumper had been resprayed fairly recently, and it looks fine with no bubble type defects appearing. The rest of the car has a lot of defects and staining like I mentioned earlier, so it is definitely not fresh paint whatsoever, factory or not.
The main reason for this post is they are literally popping up more and more each day. I've had my Z for over 5 weeks now, and these weird spots are just now showing up. I guess I'll have to call the dealership tomorrow to verify they haven't done any recent paint work, and I'll also have to try to find time to take it to a few body shops. I'll report back later this week.

If you guys have new ones where it looks fine and then you start to see this sort of crap, it;s related to the dry down of the paint... as it gets shrinks tighter to the metal, whatever dust and garbage are there show more and more. The good news is that you can hve it wet sanded and buffed to level it all out and 95% of that sh1t will not be seen,

Just to note it is expected that almost any ( well where I came from ) mid to high end value cars get there front end painted not because of collision but more to do with rock and stone chips.
