Default My "claying" experience.

I usually dont have too bad an experience with car products, but I had to post this. I bought a Clay Block from Chemical Guys. I wanted an alternative to a clay bar, but it was a huge mistake. I've never had an issue with marring my paint before until used that product. I would advise that everyone use a good clay bar and not any alternatives. Our paint is super soft. I will firmly recommend Adams's clay bar. I have used that for years with excellent results.

Hey man,

I have not talked to you in a bit. Did it damage your paint? Hope things are well otherwise.

Yo what's up man. It wasnt marred too deep, so a light polish took care of it. However, I am looking to get the Adams 2 step polish.

You're not the only one to see marring from "clay alternative" products currently on the market.

We've extensively tested nearly all of them out there and they all create some marring of some degree. The amount of time you may save (which is the selling point of these products) is negligible when you factor in the extra time you will spend polishing out the marring.

Thanks for the input. Question: any input from you on how hard or soft our paint is? I am thinking about the microfiber cutting pad with the foam polishing pad combo with your new 2 step program.

One also thing: dont try Chemical Guy's Blitz sealant. It is the worst to buff off and contaminants are leaving a stain on the clear coat. I live near an airport and see jet fuel on my car. It has never left a stain until I started using that product. I will say that I will be sticking to 1z Einzett Glanz wax. It is very easy to work with, cheaper, and gives better protection.

Their clay bar might be ok. Their clay block is the one you should not get. I will stick to Detailers Domain for detailing needs. I should have never tried to change my detailing ingredient...

The clay bar I got from them marred my paint. I think I might have gotten the wrong one. They've got a fine and a medium one.

I clay bar and lube I've used with great success are Adam's Brand. Their detail spray with the gray clay bar is awesome.
