How to remove adhesive left over from a clear bra?
The previous owner of my Z had put a clear bra on the front of the car. Today when washing my car I figured it was time to remove it because A) it had insects caked on it that I have tried for months to get off and B) the current one only covers half the hood, so I want to get one that covers the full hood.
I took off the bra (which was a pain) and washed the car and there's 2 things I noticed. The area where the bra was now has a different sheen from the rest of the car that can be seen in this image with water still on the hood of the car: (this picture is with the bra off, so you can see how halfway up the hood it looks completely different, the lower half had the bra on previously) Also, there are tiny patches of actual adhesive left over. Should a clay bar and re-wax take care of this easy peasy, or are there other steps I need to take to make the hood look correct again? |

Check out Junkman2008's paint care videos. He should have something to help you out.

Isopropyl Alcohol dilluted to 25% on a microfiber towel. Make sure you wax or use sealant afterwords. Keep in mind this is fairly aggressive and can cause swirling if you apply too much pressure so be gentle.
IPA wipedowns are very common in detailing in general to remove oils and polishing residue prior to sealing/waxing. |

I'm not so sure the previous owner would be willing to come over and remove the adhesive for him.........I'm assuming that POS VETT missed the part where he stated it was on the car when he bought it....
Not trying to bust balls, I'm just sayin' OP, Stick with Madcow and the Isop. Alcohol...... It works, and will do no damage in the process.

I didn't mean the previous owner or the previous clear bra installer. I meant the next clear bra installer since AggieDev mentioned about having a full-hood clear bra installed.

Use what pros using this will not do damage to paint or clear coat
3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner Quart 08984 Should be around 14$ at your local Home Depot but not all stores carry it. If not take to any print shop or shop that dose car wraps they might sell it to you or offer you to remove it. Job is pretty easy wipe and go so don't let them rip you off! And for the record if you removing any type of vinyl (clear bra) use heat gun or your girlfriends fan lightly heating up area that you trying to remove it will make the job a breez.
