Autocross cone marks

Default Autocross cone marks

Hey guys I got a little bit of cone mark on the front end of my car at an autocross event a week ago. I had talked to some of the guys there and they said a tennis ball was the best way to remove the black marks, but that seems a bit rough to me. Just looking for advice on removing the black mark.

This car is to much fun to autocross in too, but I can see me burning up my vlsd in a hurry.

I use AMSOIL BriteSide Miracle Wash Waterless Car Wash and Polish, spray it on and it wipes rubber deposits from track tires right off the car, would think it would do the same for cone marks. Also, on the porsche forum, guys like Mother's R3, but I have no experience with it.

Rubbing alcohol. but you will need to re Wax the area afterwards

Actually, almost any "quick detailer" on the shelves would do it. Clay bar would work too. I would use my spray-on paint sealant.

tennis ball?

i would go straight to my rc car motor spray and spot wax spray, but if not just use some clay and wax the area afterwards. also invest in clearbra if u dont have it already.

way too much work. the amsoil stuff I posted is spray on and wipe off, and its all gone. no elbow grease at all. I think the mothers is the same way.

I would just use goo gone for the light stuff, and clay for the heavier ones on my Evo. That poor bumper has some nice cone battle scars......

Wear those battle scars proudly!

I had a rear wheel splash guard thingy on my 350 ripped off when I ran thru the high speed esses slideways (turns 12/13?) at Sebring, was self tapping metal screwed back on for ever after; [i'll blame brake fade for screwing up the esses, really was brain fade]

I appreciate cars that are 'track Kings' WAY more than cars kept as 'garage' or 'trailer queens'; if the only time a car uses all its horsepower is on the dyno; your doing it wrong (of course that's just my opinion and everyone else is welcome to their own (if incorrect ) one...

TLDR: enjoy the car
