so i took my car in to get an estimate, appraiser comes in sees the damages, takes pics, and i showed the scratches on the hood, and he said thats from a another incident, ( my rear bumper right side was dented and the got was pushed forward about 1-2 feet, and in front of my car were 2 stoves, inside the garage, the front of the bumper hit the stove, got dented a tiny bit and the glass from the stove shattered upon impact and scratched the front bumper and hood, and glass pieces went through the front bumper and i can hear it when i hit the undertray with my hand, can also see bits of the glass), yet the appraiser still says its from another incident, the adjuster later tells me, there giving me the benefit of the doubt since i made a police report and calling it a hit and run instead of vandalism. there were 2 cars parked in the garage, and theres no way for my rear right to get hit with another car without the car next to me not getting damaged, the car on my right sits around 2 feet or less away and there bumper sticks out further as mine sticks more inwards, making it impossible to hit me without damaging both cars. and the adjuster is making it sound like there doing me a favor because i made a police report, ( you have to make a police report anyway ) and she says she doesnt know if i hit a wall or something, that pissed me off, why would i go backwards smash my rear, than drive forwards and get scratches from the AIR, makes NO SENSE......... i told her that someone broke in and there are many items in the garage that could have been used to do the damage, let alone the crook bringing their own weapon of choice......... person was extremely impatient, cut me off while asking questions, didnt answer my questions and brushed me off when i asked for a manager, im afraid to do anything, bc i havent received an estimate yet and i dont want to piss them off. and the adjuster said if i wanted to do another claim for the hood bc its a different incident i would have to pay a second deductible, which is stupid, bc my deductible is high and the hood apparently needs a buff from what the appraiser said... i have pics of the oven that shattered, dents on it, and the shattered glass still under the front bumper undertray, so WTF.........

How did the car get damaged? Vandals started your car in the garage and then drove it into a stove?

Wait till the appraisal return and see what it says.

Speak to your insurance company and ask for another appraiser or better, if your car is being fix, ask the shop if he is willing to fix this issue for free and you will have it done at their shop. You have the right to have your car repaired at any facility.

its not the body shop thats the problem, its the stupid adjuster and appraiser, i told them i have the pics of the broken above and the cop came and took a report also, but there saying since nothing was stolen its considered hit and run.. and the adjuster on the phone says the cop wasnt there when the crime happened... atleast he was in teh garage and saw the property damage, unlike the idiot insurance company who are just saying, NO the hood isnt a part of the damage, that happened somehwere else, and the adjuster pretty much is accusing me of doing the damage myself or i got hit... she said we dont know whether u ran into something..... so im being called a liar and when i have proof of property damage and a police report...... so what right does the stupid adjuster have when she says well the cop wasnt there, atleast he saw the scene of the crime, unlike the dumb insurance.... there saying there covering it but not the hood, and estimates will be released in 1-2 days, so lets see what happens..............

and idk about asking for another appraiser, can i do that? arent they all friends and that will piss them off and say were not covering it now, i need something in writing to prove they say they will pay, then ill start complaining afterwards, bc i want to get something atleast before i make a formal complaint.. this is BS... who would make that **** up, smash there own ovens and scratch there own car and dump broken glass in the undertray.......................................

they didnt start it, i wish i knew how it got damaged, it was in the garage next to our other car.. like i said they either used the sledge hammer that was in there... BUT a sledge hammer cant push the car up 1-2 feet.. BUT then again the base of the garage was pure ice.. so who knows......

getting maximum security, next guy will get a sword, bat, and dogs to deal wit, and cameras, alarms, and sensors

Back in the '80's, had a friend who installed an Alpine stereo in his panel van. Stolen a few weeks later. Replaced Alpine and installed alarm system. Stolen again a few weeks later. Replaced Alpine and bought a German sheppard that lived in the van. Problem solved!

The OP had his car vandalized in his garage and it's being put through his insurance as a hit and run, I think.

I have two doberman no one has touched my car so far but I doubt it's because of my dogs.

I have a little Jack Russell. Its probably about the size of one of your dog's head but I tell ya.............he does the JOB FREAKIN WELL scaring off poeple
That's also because they cant see his actual size
He sounds like the Taz Manian Devil from the cartoon

i took it to a bodyshop, and insurance said it will not affect the premium and will consider it a hit and run, instead of vandalism.. insurance approved and is paying for it.

my Z was in the damn garage the whole winter, no damage on the garage door... so who would open my garage door at midnight and ram it with there own car and damage their own car and then drive off. and several homes are facing the backyard with 1 driveway shared with the neighbor and plenty of bedrooms several meters facing the garage and no one heard a thing....

hit and run doesnt sound good at all........

my brand new Z paid off was the LEAST expensive car in their the bodyshop.

now the waiting game begin...

oh god, plz let me Z look perfect.........
