Default Need Coilovers to get the look I Want?

Call me crazy, but I'm getting my Z in a few weeks and making clear plan for what mods I want to do. Been bit by the bug before with a couple cars and want to make a detailed plan for what I need before I go too crazy.

Anyways, I don't plan on auto-x-ing the car anytime soon after the purchase but do want a clean look. I plan on getting 20" rims on the car and have seen the drop with springs such as swift (which was my first choice) and it just doesn't seem flush enough for what I'm aiming for. Does this mean I should go for coil overs to get that perfect drop I'm looking for? Does this also mean if I get the $1000 range coil overs it will ruin my daily driving comfort or ruin the shocks prematurely?

I've done lots of searching and reading on other posts and just cant find the answers I'm looking for. Sorry for all the newbie questions, but never had coil overs before. I was looking into the Tein Street Basis coil overs or similar, and don't want to spend more than double for KWV3's just for a cleaner look. I basically want the car to be almost flush with the outside of the tire or about an inch or less from it. Nothing to crazy since it will be daily driven.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I know its just another coil overs or springs debate. Thanks in advance and again shout out to all the370z community. Been really supportive even though I havn't even gotten my car! Made me want a Z even more than before and convinced me to get it for sure.

Lower your car too much and you actually make handling worse because you lose upward travel.

Our breakdown over the years has come down to this:
Street/Show- Springs and Struts or BC/Fortune/Knockoff-o-rama
Entry level HPDE- KWs or Bilsteins
Top Level HPDE/Entry Level Race- AST
Club Racing- Moton
Beyond that- Penske
What to look for and WHY: Coilovers

If you're trying to flush up your tires with the fender, spacers are what you want. Or if you go with 20's, a different offset than the stock Rays.
If you go with coil overs, your OEM shocks get removed. So you won't be ruining them.

1" fender to trim is gonna ride like ****. You could get $3000coilovers and 20" wheels 30series rubber and 2-2.5" drop tucking tire is still gonna ride like ****. not to mention to go that low you will also need adjustable arms to get the camber and toe close to back to stock numbers. You will need to except a poor ride, poor tire life, and problems if you are gonna hellaflush it. I have another word for it but it isn't crazy. Also you're budget for this is no where near realistic, 20" rims and tires even cheap ones are going to be a minimum of 2500, megan coils will get you that low for $800-900 but you are going to need $700-800 in arms to get it into alignment. Also that low you will be lucky to get it close to handling as well as it does stock so kiss your' autox times goodbye. Hella flush is all look, no comfort or performance.

Sounds about right, I plan on building the car later on in its life. So for now I think springs and struts are the way to go. I do want some gap between the outside of tire and fender. Thanks for the input guys. Definitely don't want my car to ride like crap just to look good. So thanks for that advice 1slow370. The truth hurts but I had to hear it from somebody. Thanks again

crap. The konis allow for the higher rate of the swifts and they are adjustable if memory serves.

Edit: you will want the koni yellows they are made for lowering springs, the sports are not.

Edit: I guess we only get the yellow lowering ones so no need to worry
