Who makes the calipers on my 2015 Base non Sport model? Are they decent quality? Has anyone painted them? Any other info would be much apprecitated......

Probably some off brand, maybe Nissan?

Are they quality... Well... They're cast iron, sooooo... They're cast iron.

I'm more than certain people have painted them

I've auto crossed mine for three years. No problems except rotor warping and toasted my pads a few times. But still on stock base calipers. So I would say they are pretty damn good quality wise.

This. If the car is just a DD, good pads, lines and fluids will be fine. Big brakes don't help much in a one-time panic stop. Base brakes can lock up the wheels just fine. One time panic stops are a test of tires at that point. Big brakes are for repeated hard braking like on a track.

If your reason is that "Big brakes look awesome", carry on. That is 100% correct.

One final thought guys. I don't care what kind of brakes you have on the car, if your tires aren't up to handling the new braking power you've just installed, then you are wasting your time, money and possibly your car as it goes sliding into that guys' rear end. Since the tires are the last contact point for the car to the road, their size, condition, rating and so on are as important as getting a BBK, better pads or rotors. They are designed to work in harmony and it takes idiots like us to screw all that up. Think before you spend, and then spend wisely, and sometimes it's wisest to do nothing at all.

Truth. So many times I see people install BBK for bling factors, then negative zillion degrees of camber and stretched to hell tires....and the car "stops amazingly because of the BBK"
