Outrageous install rates
been wanting to do a Sprint spring upgrade, so i decided to start checking around Portland tuner shops for installation pricing. Holy ****! Most want 4 hours for the springs, 2 hours for camber arms, at anywhere in between $100-125 an hour rate. Are you kidding me? And that doesn't include alignment cost. $700-800 for the job, guess i better keep looking around for more affordable shops. Factor in $500 for the parts, that $1200-1300 dollars total

I know this won't be helpful, but I have found that I would rather spend the money on tools, than labor rates. Sure, I am not accounting for my time when I am installing the parts, but I can call it a hobby, right?

yah, if you have the means to do the work yourself, get the tools you need.
chances are you will work on other cars and future cars... and be able to fix anything later too. and do your local buddies cars for like $50 each, and make some of the money back. |
