DIY Wheel Alighments

Does anyone do there own wheel alighments? There are at least a couple kits available so you can do it yourself for about $500. Seems it would pay for itself

I have a camber gauge and toe plates but honestly I just use them to verify my alignment hasn't moved on me. Maybe if I ever get a set of hub stands I'll actually start doing my own alignments. IMHO doing an alignment without a fancy alignment rack is just too time consuming for me.

Yes it is pretty time consuming, especially not having a rack. I recently just tried the string method (before re-aligning it) and what a pain. Considering the hassle, I feel more confident taking it to a place.
