Exclamation For those with SPL Mid-Links - Urgent Help Needed -

Guys I am running SPL mid links with adjustable spring bucket on my G37 and upon my alignment I was approached by the mechanic holding my titanium adjuster with the heim joint missing half its threads.

He proceeded to tell me that the C-clip that holds the Titanium sleeve tightly over the Heim threads was bent and allowed the pieces to sit at an angle, grinding the threads from the heim joint.

We managed to clean up what was left of the threads and keep it together so I could make it home. The other side was completely fine along with the camber arms.

Could someone please give me the dimensions to this Heim joint so that I could order a replacement. I have tried calling SPL multiple times only to be sent directly to voicemail.

Thank you! This info is much appreciated!

I've called SPL multiple times, they always pick up. You calling m-f business hours? I wouldn't source a replacement, call them and order it. Although I have them I have no idea what you're talking about that stripped the hemi joint. the sliver sleeve? that didnt get messed up? Got a pic?

Threaded part of this piece.

As far as I know, Chromoly will destroy itself before harming Titanium so the Titanium piece (Threaded sleeve) should be okay. Might as well get one of those too just to be safe.

Do you have any pics of the link itself? Also did you intall these or some shop, because they could of been adjusted too far out and bent like that.

Im with SYNOLIMIT on calling during bussiness HRS. They always picked up and happy to answer my questions.

As promised.

Got everything swapped out and this was the problem -

Anyone have suggestions on where I should get an alignment? I prefer someone who has experience with this type of setup in the NE Ohio area.

Thanks!

Daaaaammmmmnnnnn! Wtf? It looks like whoever put them together cross threaded it. I got my alignment done from my friendly local nissan dealership by their only GTR tech. $139 with the specs that I wanted for autox. No problems at all, I did have to give them The instructions for the spl parts. That's good you got it all squared away with new pieces.

On second look whoever adjusted it, tightened the collar down real good then tried to adjust it.

Not trying to hijack thread but if you just have swift springs and koni's do I need the mid links?

Mid links give full adjustment of toe with no chance of slip when you use eccentric lock out bolt kits. If you have swift springs you'll need to sell for swift racing linear springs in 2.5" diameter. But now you need to sell your shocks. With mid links you need an adjustable shock for height. With a OEM length shock when the suspension is unloaded the racing swift is loose in the bucket. You need a shorter shock to add preload to the spring or the spring could fall out of the bucket. This could be avoided if you run stock ride height though. I'm only lowered an inch though and suspension unloaded my spring can fall out. Needless to say I'm not driving aggressive until I get a coilovers rear adjustable shock in OEM type, or I might sell my mid links for toe links and buy a true coilover setup.
