Default 370z stock brakes squealing after 23k

Hello Everyone,

I had a quick question and wanted to get some feedback in regards to stock brake pads. I have a 2012 Z and I use my car as a daily driver. She has about 23k miles so far after 2 years of usage and the brakes started squealing for the last 1k miles. I took it to a shop and they said that there was plenty of meat left on the pads. the technician said that Nissan/Infiniti stock brake pads are notorious for making noises but just wanted to hear if you guys have had any experience with this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much!

-Chris

Take the pads out, clean everything up and hit the backing plates with some anti squeal and see if that solves it.
SPOHN and DEpointfive0 like this.

find an open road, do 55-10mph fast braking 5-6 times. and keep driving for a mile or so to cool off the brakes.

if that fails:

remove pads, apply on the back side of the pads and do the 55-10mph braking again.

Not real fan of that stuff. Had issues with it sometime ago. It's a brake feel thing. Be better off with alittle bit of brake grease on the back of the pads.

Thanks for your input! so basically if I drive very conservatively, my brakes should not even be considered to be worn out, right? I am still riding on my stock Yoko's that have about 23k miles on it, just to show you how conservative I drive her. haha

thanks once again!

I used to use it all the time. Then started to have a few problems with it. Customers didn't like the brake feel with it. So I haven't used it since.

42k with original sport brakes, no squealing. Make sure you break firmly and gradually, don't jab the pedal all the way down. My two cents

Thanks for all your input/advice! Going to try to buy that and spray the crap out of my brakes with it soon. Sport Brakes and stock base brakes should be about the same right?
