Brake Pedal/ Firewall Flex
Being my car is completely stripped. It's nice to know that when getting on the brake pedal the firewall flexes. Is it to much to ask from Nissan that they could of reinforce the driver side firewall

Remember, most pedal ratio's are 6 or 7 to 1, and even ancient old f4rts like me can manage to leg-press 75-90kg, so Mr Nissan designers need to engineer the firewall to cope with 600kg+ load on the firewall - I don't think so .... Another simple example of purchasing a road-car and expecting it to survive track duty - not going to happen IMHO. Only Porsche and some track-specific models from other OEM's will have the proper level of bracing in the firewall to support the pedal box. I don;t even think about bitching over Nissan's omission - it is a road car and the firewall is plenty strong enough for a roadie - just another cost for the track-day junkie or road-racer to bear. ^ good way of thinking of it. After this track season is over. I'm stripping this car to the core and building the baddest track beast, longevity, aero package you have ever seen. Done with the BS ABS and all.
Thanks for being the ONLY person with positive constructive criticism comment. Much respect to you only.

Sophn, I've seen cars where they have double plated the brake/clutch mount area. Is this what you are planning to do?

a lot of track cars do it even one without firewall issues because it greatly improves pedal feel under hard braking.
edit:i would only end brace it because when the corner is loaded the strut tower wants to push toward the center of the car so if you brace the master cylinder on the sides you can crack it when cornering, also it is best to have it just touching don't try to load the end of the cylinder with it for the same reason
